Industrie De Nora has received on 10/1/2015 the EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency) registration for three sodium-hypochlorite solutions Soleva (0.6%, 0.1% and 0.05%), produced on-site, their generator devices (Giselle 1.0 and Giselle 2.0) and the precursor material (sodium chloride).
The solutions have been classified as one-step sanitizer (0.1% and 0.05%) and one-step disinfectant (0.6%) for hard-non porous surfaces.
These products are registered for use against bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores.
The production on-site provides benefits for the user as well for the environment:
- ready to use and unbuffered solutions with pH closer to neutral
- transport, handling and storage of chemicals are limited to sodium chloride
- plastic production and waste are strongly limited
