OMNIPURE Series 64 Sewage Treatment Systems USCG Type Approval

集成了USCG、IMO、MED和IECEx/ATEX认证,用于非危险和危险等级的船舶和海上设施,这是市场上的首创。

SUGAR LAND, Texas, USA —June 17, 2020 – De Nora today announces that their latest generation OMNIPURE™ sewage treatment systems have received United States Coast Guard (USCG) Type Approval certifications. With these certifications, the OMNIPURE sewage treatment systems are the first packaged systems with integrated USCG, IMO, MED, and IECEx/ATEX certifications for both non-hazardous and hazardous-rated marine and offshore installations. The OMNIPURE Series 64 G2 Ex, approved for installation in hazardous locations on U.S. Flagged Vessels, is the first marine sewage treatment system with USCG, IMO, MED, BV, IECEx and ATEX certifications in a single, off-the-shelf packaged unit andhave been verified for IEC, EN IEC, and ISO standards for explosive atmospheres.

“These USCG approvals allow us to serve our U.S.-based customers with both non-hazardous and hazardous area rated sewage treatment systems as a single standardized and certified product,” said Dana Casbeer, De Nora’s OMNIPURE Product Manager. “With integrated certifications, our partners avoid additional design, testing and evaluation of individual components, alleviating the often-high cost burden passed onto customers who want to achieve overall technical hazardous area compliance normally encountered on a project-by-project basis.”

Following testing conducted by Testing Engineers International, LLC, a USCG-accredited laboratory in Salt Lake City, Utah, the OMNIPURE Series 64 G2 and 64 G2 Ex sewage treatment plant (STP) units are now USCG certified Type II MSDs in accordance with 33 CFR Part 159. The OMNIPURE STP product family utilizes an advanced electrolytic process for effective treatment of both black and gray waters, producing wastewater effluent quality well below the MEPC.227(64) and 33 CFR Part 159 discharge limits. These latest generation OMNIPURE treatment systems feature a pioneering reverse polarity electrode technology that generates an effective oxidant for the disinfection of the sewage stream and also creates the patent-pending non-air based electroflotation effect that separates clear water from flocculated solids. The OMNIPURE Series 64 G2 and 64 G2 Ex marine sewage treatment units are equipped with proprietary DSA® electrode technology, offering effective treatment of both black and gray waters with a treatment capacity up to 13,209 gallons per day per unit.

“The safety of our customers is paramount at De Nora and regulatory compliance coupled with the hazardous area classification of OMNIPURE systems is something we are proud to offer to our customers globally,” commented Sehul Patel, P.E., De Nora R&D (Product Development) Engineer. “It is extremely important that the selected IECEx and ATEX components for type-approved marine sewage treatment systems are environmentally tested per IMO and Class Society requirements, and are marine type-approved. The new non-hazardous OMNIPURE Series 64 G2 and dual IECEx and ATEX rated OMNIPURE Series G2 Ex product family represent a leap forward in providing STP units to customers that not only effectively meet the most stringent global effluent discharge standards, but also ensure operator health and safety for STP unit operation in hazardous locations.”
